Lilies with… dried flowers!
It is the #1 flower trend of 2025: fresh flowers combined with dried flowers. Are you up for it? If so, just mix lilies from the florist with dried materials from your own garden. This will give your bouquet a really special look.
A vase of contrasts
Bulb flowers like lilies (Lilium) are perfect for this flower trend because their fresh look contrasts nicely with the weathered, crisp character of dried flowers. At the same time, the vibrant colors of fresh lilies (and other bulb flowers) contrast beautifully with the faded tones of dried materials.
From your own garden
When you think of dried flowers, classics such as hydrangea, statice, and strawflower most likely initially come to mind. But there are many more options. Why not combine lilies with spent flowers that have a nice structure (such as umbellifers) or striking seed pods (poppies)? Interestingly shaped branches also combine beautifully with lilies. Or go a bit wild and combine lilies with robust thistles that you let dry in the vase!
Elegant character
Ornamental grasses form a special category of “dried flowers”. They seem to have been made to accompany lilies because their graceful plumes enhance the elegant character of these bulb flowers. Give your bouquet or arrangement a natural look by having the ornamental grasses protrude above the flowers, slightly tilted to one side – as if a breeze is blowing them in that direction. Absolutely gorgeous!
